We offer digital X-rays, in-house whitening procedures, nitrous oxide, and other amenities to make your visit a pleasurable experience.

Hygiene

The most fundamental aspect of great oral health starts with your hygienist and routine dental cleanings. The frequency of your cleanings will be determined on an individual basis and tailored for your unique dental needs.

At your cleaning appointment we will also update your medical history, check your teeth for cavities, perform oral cancer screening, present oral hygiene instructions, and monitor your periodontal (gum) condition.

X-Rays

X-rays are needed in order to accurately diagnose problems in oral health. Many advances have been made in the field of radiology regarding radiation exposure. In our office, we use digital x-rays that decrease the exposure our patients receive when compared to traditional film x-rays.

Fillings

In order to prevent further decay and other problems associated with a tooth when it gets a cavity, the infected part of the tooth is removed and a filling is placed to restore the tooth to its original shape and function. In our office, the majority of the time, the fillings are the same color as your tooth and while getting the infection out; your smile will be improved.

Over time, old fillings do break down, fall out, and/or get cavities under them. Routine exams will detect these areas and a new filling will need to be placed to restore the tooth to health.

Crowns

A "cap" or a "crown" can be used to restore a tooth that has broken, heavily filled or cracked to its original size and shape. Also a tooth that has a big cavity or is at risk for fracture can also be crowned to avoid this problem. After a root canal a tooth can become brittle and is often crowned to prevent fracture.

If a tooth is lost, a "bridge" can be placed to replace the missing tooth or teeth in order to restore your bite and chewing capabilities. Implants are another way we can restore a lost or missing tooth.

Periodontal (Gum) Disease

Although seldom painful, and frequently free of any observable signs or symptoms, periodontal disease can slowly destroy the supporting bone around teeth to the point that the tooth becomes loose and non-restorable. The great aspect dentistry has to offer is that if the condition is caught early and treated, oral health can be restored and maintained.

Periodontal disease is an infection caused by plaque, but can also be facilitated by many other factors such as smoking and diabetes. This is why screening and early prevention are of great importance.

Endodontic Therapy

The tooth's pulp (blood and nerve supply) can sometimes become inflamed or infected and root canal therapy is the only way to save the tooth from being removed. A root canal is a procedure where the inside of the tooth is cleaned and filled with a special material to prevent further infection. Most therapy can be rendered right in our office; however for complicated cases we will be happy to refer you to a specialist.

Orthodontics (Braces)

Both adults and children can benefit from having straight teeth. Teeth that are crooked or crowded, spaced unevenly, or subjected to traumatic biting patterns all contribute to oral problems. The majority of problems like these can be alleviated through orthodontic therapy. It is important that children be evaluated on a regular basis to determine if orthodontics will be needed. Adults and children will be closely monitored during routine cleanings for a specialist referral.

Snore Guard

In some cases a device to help alleviate snoring can be designed custom for and fabricated through our office. We are happy to work with other medical professionals to ensure that the right device is prescribed for your individual needs.

Partials and Dentures

When teeth are lost or missing and a bridge or implants are not an option, we can often restore function and esthetics with a removable prosthesis. This can usually be done in our office, where the dentist and you will make a custom treatment plan tailored specifically for you.

Sealants

As children's permanent teeth start to come in, a reliable preventative treatment is to place a tooth colored covering over the chewing part of the tooth. This will help to prevent early cavities on teeth they will have the rest of their lives. The dentist may choose to seal both the 6 and 12-year molars depending on your child's individual needs. The best way to avoid a problem is to prevent it!

Cosmetic Dentistry

Many advances have been made in the field of cosmetic dentistry in recent years. Now it is possible to reverse years of normal wear and tear in just a few visits. Unsightly defects in your teeth can be corrected with veneers (facings), crowns, or esthetic fillings and contouring of your teeth to construct a beautiful smile.

We also offer bleaching; both at-home bleaching kits and one-time in-office procedures are available to lighten and brighten your smile.

Other Services

We also can fabricate sports guards for the athlete in your family. In addition, a night guard can be made for those individuals that grind and clench their teeth at night. Not only will this alleviate some of the painful symptoms, but it is also the best way to prevent the teeth from wearing down.
